What is Polarization?

In order to understand polarized lenses, you first need to know about light waves.

Sunlight ordinarily travels in waves moving in all three directions of dimensional space.

Polarized light also travels, but it moves in two dimensions: horizontally and vertically. Vertical light directs useful information to the eye, allowing us to see colors and contrasts, while horizontal light creates glare or “optical noise”.

Wherever light hits a non-metallic surface it is reflected in a horizontal plane. Typically this is what happens on a road or on a body of water. This high concentration of glare can be selectively blocked only by a high-quality polarizing filter. As light rays pass through a polarized lens, the light rays are channeled so they travel in the desired direction, similar to the way Venetian blinds channel light; thus eliminating glare.

Why Xperio Polarized Lenses so beneficial? This exciting technology provides us with these optical benefits.

  • Glare-free vision
  • 100% UV protection
  • Noticeably reduced eye-fatigue from glare
  • Exceptional color perception
  • Enhanced color saturation and contrasts

All of these features work together to give you soothing optical comfort, allowing for less eye strain, improved concentration and the assurance of a clear view, especially when driving. They also set our high-quality lenses apart from many other manufacturers of polarized lenses. As you can see, Xperio Polarized Lenses present a superior product with substantial benefits for you. Once you experience Xperio polarized sunglasses you will never want to wear ordinary sunglasses again!
